The family of renowned Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba (formerly 2Face), has raised concerns over his sudden disappearance. Reports indicate that the singer went missing under mysterious circumstances, prompting an urgent appeal from his loved ones.
On February 14, 2025, 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, making a public plea for help. In her emotional appeal, she specifically called on Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawuru, urging her to release the singer from what she described as a troubling situation.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she stated.
Expressing deep concern over her son’s well-being, Rose claimed that 2Baba was not in the right state of mind, particularly as he was going through a divorce. She also mentioned specific items Osawuru had placed on him, which she believed were affecting him.

“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him,” she pleaded.
Prior to Rose Idibia’s public outcry, the family had already taken formal steps to locate the missing singer. They filed a petition with the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ikoyi, Lagos, declaring him missing.
According to the petition, 2Baba was last seen on February 10, 2025, when he left his home for a casual walk but never returned. Despite extensive efforts from family and friends to track him down, no substantial leads have emerged.
Adding to their fears, several of 2Baba’s close friends reported receiving unusual messages from his social media accounts requesting financial assistance. This raised suspicions that his identity may have been compromised.
“Adding to the family’s distress are the calls from several of his close friends that have received messages from what appears to be his social media accounts soliciting financial assistance. These messages are alarming, as Mr. Innocent is financially independent and has never required assistance in such a manner. This has led his family to suspect that his identity may have been compromised, and that someone may have abducted him and is actively manipulating him to exploit his contacts for monetary gain,” the petition stated.
Efforts to reach the lawyer handling the family’s petition, Wilson Anuge, have so far been unsuccessful, as attempts to contact his firm via details found on Google Maps, the phone number was switched off and was not available on WhatsApp.
For now, the mystery surrounding 2Baba’s whereabouts remains unsolved, leaving many anxiously awaiting further developments.
