Rivers State to Revive Fire Stations After 12 Years of Neglect

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced that fire stations across the state, which have been inactive for over a decade, will be fully operational within the next two months.

During an inspection of ongoing renovation work at the Rumuodomaya, Borokiri, and Diobu fire stations, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring these critical emergency response facilities. He emphasized that the state government is working diligently to ensure the fire stations are fully equipped and functional.

The Governor noted that in the absence of a reliable fire service, residents have been forced to rely on multinational companies operating in the state to combat fire outbreaks in homes and businesses. This, he said, is an unacceptable situation that his administration is determined to change.
