Fear Grips Residents As Suspected Cultists Kill One In Ahoada

There is tension in Ahoada Town of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, following the gruesome murder of a vigilante member, Mr Precious Nnamdi.

Nnamdi who is reported to hail from Ihuike Community in Ula-Upata Kingdom, Ahoada East LGA, was said to have been killed by suspected cultists on Tuesday night, at hospital road.



A source revealed that the suspected cultists bearing guns intercepted the vigilante personnel while he was on patrol along hospital road and shot him severally but the bullets reportedly did not penetrate.

The source also said that the assailants later used sticks and iron objects found around the scene to hit the vigilante member until he died before they fled.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the state Police command, Grace Iringe-Koko said, “Yes I can confirm the incident.The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“He has been deposited in the mortuary and investigation is ongoing.

“The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju has ordered the Area Commander and Tactical units to fish out and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime”.
