He needs a place to call home and financial assistance to enable him pay the hospital bills of his wife and son who were rescued from the fire.
Recall that 7am on Monday, January 13, 2025, there was a fire outbreak at Rumuworlu Street, in Eneka Clan, of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Moses 6-Month-Old child was burnt to death, while his two years old only surviving child is battling for his life at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
He explained that his wife was also admitted at the hospital following the injuries she secured trying to rescue their children from the fire.
While the little boy was said to have a 50/50 chance of surviving, the mother was reported to be responding to treatment.
Saviour said in an interview, while appreciating the Eneka Today Media team, led by Mr. Maxwell Onuma, for their cash donation.
“I don’t know what to say, I am confused, I am exhausted, I don’t know what to say. Yesterday morning I was at my workplace when they called me to come back home because there is a fire in my house. I asked them to tell me what exactly is happening, and they said I should come home, I should come home.
“Different numbers called me, so I came home, I saw my house burnt to ashes and the baby inside; my two kids, one burnt to ashes, one was rescued with fire burns and my wife with fire burns, that’s what I saw yesterday morning.”
Moses decried, “I am helpless, nothing was rescued from our house, nothing, my baby died inside. I am helpless, I don’t know where to start and where to go. I need help. No place to stay, no money to pay the hospital bill, I am confused.
“I want to beg everyone. I beg Obio/Akpor chairman, I beg people in this community, I beg those who fail my pain to please help me, help my family, I don’t want to lose my wife and my only child, please.
“I just wish this thing did not happen, since yesterday I have been praying that it should be a dream but till now, I have not woken up. Please, help me, help me, please help me.
“I thank this community of people who saw my pain and came, Eneka Today Media team only God will bless you for helping a stranger like me. They did not treat my wife because of money, but with this, I can at least make sure she starts treatment immediately.”
Speaking on behalf of the Eneka Today Media team, Onuma assured the victim’s father that he was not alone.
“Just be strong, yes, you lost a child but you have to be strong for your wife and your son. Also, don’t blame your wife so you don’t lose her also because she is suffering more; a breastfeeding mother who lost her suckling child.
” We can’t do everything but we will do our little and pray God sends helpers to you and your family.”
