Overall Best Platoons Receive Gold Cup, Cash Rewards From Rivers NYSC

At the end of the Inter-Platoon Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development SAED competition, the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Rivers State, has awarded a gold cup and cash price of N20,000 to four platoons for emerging overall best.

The scheme also charged corps members in the state to start a business now and grow it with their youthful energy, zest, and passion.

The NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, gave the charge on Friday, December 13, 2024, when he declared closed, the SAED in-camp training for the 2024 Batch C Stream I orientation exercise for corps members deployed to Rivers State.

Oleghe urged the Corps to take the post-camp training very seriously in order to perfect the experience and knowledge gained in the in-camp training.

The NYSC boss encouraged the corps members to work hard, and be diligent and consistent on their chosen skill set, emphasizing that corps members would be posted to serve under any corps member whose business shows strong and significant growth within the first six months of establishing the business.

Earlier in his remarks, the SAED officer, Mr. Darlington Obiandu commended the corpers for their enthusiasm, passion, commitment, resilience and doggedness in actively learning their preferred skill.

He appreciated the state coordinator and camp officials for their moral and material support to the SAED committee.

The event featured the exhibition of items produced in the in-camp training.
