Nigeria’s New Zealand-born Israel Adesanya, the charismatic and dominant force in the UFC middleweight division, has recently hinted at the possibility of retirement. While the exact timeline remains unclear, the 35-year-old fighter is undeniably contemplating his future in the sport.

Speaking on a podcast, Adesanya acknowledged the physical and mental demands of a decade-long career in mixed martial arts. Despite his recent setbacks, including losses to Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis, he remains proud of his accomplishments, having held the middleweight title twice.

While rumors swirl about a potential matchup against Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Saudi Arabia, Adesanya is cautious about his next move. He understands the importance of timing and the risks associated with prolonged fighting.

“You’ve got to break up with fighting before fighting breaks up with you,” he wisely stated.

As one of the most stylish and skilled fighters in UFC history, Adesanya’s retirement would undoubtedly mark the end of an era. However, he remains driven to achieve more, suggesting that he has a few more chapters to write in his legendary career.

For now, fans can only speculate about the future of “The Last Stylebender.” Whether he continues to compete or decides to call it quits, his impact on the sport will be felt for years to come.
