Rivers Council Chairman to Commence Construction of Corps Lodge in a Week Time

The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Ishmael Oforibika has pledged his administration’s readiness to begin the construction of a brand new Corpers’ lodge in Bolo community next week.

He stated that the development will serve as a part of his welfare packages for Corps Members serving in the LGA.

He stated this on Monday, October 28, 2024, in his office when he received the NYSC Local Government Inspector of the LGA and some Corps Members serving in the Council who paid him a courtesy visit.

Oforibika used the occasion to commend the corps members for their laudable and exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the LGA most especially in the education sector where they are building human capacity through efficient and effective teaching and learning.

Continuing, the Council boss further stated that his administration will always reciprocate the corps members good gestures by taking seriously, “all issues relating to their welfare and security in order to make the LGA home away from home” for them.

In the light of the above, he announced to the vorps members that the Bolo Corpers’ Lodge will be a state-of-the-art accommodation that will compete with the best corps lodges in the country when completed.

He directed immediate renovation of other corps lodges in Ogu in order to make them more attractive and habitable.

Earlier, the Local Government Inspector, Mrs. Lekia Nnam-Jacob had appreciated the Chairman for his love and passion for corps members welfare.

She equally thanked him for his commitment and political will to begin the construction of the Bolo Corpers’ Lodge shown which will help ease accommodation challenges faced by Corps Members in the community.

Concluding, Mrs. Nnam-Jacob expressed her joy at the directive by the Chairman for immediate renovation of other Corps lodges in the LGA and requested the Chairman to consider the payment of monthly stipend to all Corps Members serving in the area as a way to encourage and motivate them for increased optimum performances.
