Dangote Group said the company was yet to finalize petrol pricing with Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Thursday.
The company management said this in a published memo tagged, “NNPC Yet To Lift Our Petrol,” while debunking an alleged media publication that was published on September 4.
“Our attention has been drawn to a headline, “NNPC lifts Dangote Petrol, sells at N897 per litre,” published in the BusinessDay Newspapers of Wednesday, 4 September 2024.”

Addressing the members of the public, the company noted that “NNPC has not commenced lifting of refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from our Dangote Petroleum Refinery.”
Meanwhile, according to Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, he explained that the PMS market was strictly regulated as it was generally known to oil marketers and stakeholders in the sector.
In addition, Chiejina, on behalf of the management, said that determining, fixing, or influencing the PMS price was beyond their control as they awaited the purview of relevant government authorities.
The Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer advises the public to disregard the publication as it does not “represent the true position.”
Addressing the availability of their product to the market, Dangote Group vows to make their product readily available around the country with high quality.
