The Edi-Abali of Kalabari Kingdom, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari says the organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protest are haters of President Bola Tinubu, adding that the immediate past administration of Tinubu’s predecessor had the worst economic woes.
Alhaji Asari spotted the hand of Peter Obi in the protest whom he said supported the bad financial policy of the immediate past president.
Obi was the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in 2023 who lost to Tinubu both on the ballot and in the courts.
Alhaji Asari wondered why certain persons were in a haste to unseat Tinubu through unconstitutional means but could patiently allow the tenure of the previous administration to elapse.
His Words: “You embarked on the #EndBadGovernance protest because you hated President Bola Tinubu.
“We were here when they put us in a lockdown during Covid 19, you did not protest. We were here when they changed the naira and somebody would take N30,000 to buy N10,000, you did not protest.
“In this country, people were starving to death, we did not protest, rather these same people who are leading this protest were in support of the previous administration.
“In fact, Peter Obi and his group were in support of the pains that former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele inflicted on Nigerians.
“We were here when they budgeted billions for the Anchor Borrower Programme to rice farmers and some persons embezzled the money to buy private jets and made investments in Dubai. We did not protest.”
You recall that despite appeals by the presidency and some well-meaning Nigerians including Alhaji Asari, the protesters still went ahead to embark on the protest on August 1, leading to a bloodbath in some parts of the country.
Hoodlums also took advantage of the protest to loot and destroy properties worth billions while other protesters were sighted waving Russian flags, especially in the North.
