Many feared Dead as School Building Collapse in Plateau State

A two-story building was purportedly reported to have collapsed in Plateau State today, leaving students and teachers underneath the rabble with many feared dead.

According to Punch, it was gathered that the incident at Saint Academy, located in the Busa Buji community in Jos North Local Government Area, occurred approximately around 8:30 a.m. during school activity.

Meanwhile, the news of the incident has triggered a lot of emotions and commotion as parents and relatives who have children were seen within the premises of the school.

Although the cause of the accident has not been determined, there is no official record to determine the number of causalities.

The news of the accident has sent some shocked and left netizens to react, some of whom believe the building collapsed due to substantial material and have called on the government for regulation of building materials.

“Mehn hardship has forced people to use substandard stuff to build houses. This is becoming too much. The government really needs to regulate our building materials, like NAFDAC. It is not a must to build a house, especially if you are not sure of the funding. May their soul find eternal rest,” Evangeline Chiyere, an X user, commented.

Another user, Ayò Èlѐniyàn, said, “We tend to overlook things so much in this country, it’s very certain this building needs renovation, but we just don’t care about safety.”

As of writing this, the medical staff and security operatives were on the ground, attending to the situation.
