Two Impersonators Bag Jail Terms in Kaduna

The federal High Court, presided over by Justice R.M. Aikawa, has jailed two impersonators, Onah Henry Chinonso, posed to be Sandra Morales, and Puklong Michael Longhom, known as Robertech, who bagged different jail terms over cybercrime in Kaduna.

After following credible surveillance, both convicts were apprehended at Bauchi Bypass in Jos, Plateau State, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed on X today.

EFCC prosecuted the convicts based on one-count charges levelled against them, respectively.

Explaining further, Chinoso’s charge reads: “That you, Onah Henry Chinonso (a.k.a. Sandra Morales), male, sometimes in May sometime 2024 in Jos, Plateau State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently impersonated one Sandra Morales (a female American, residing in Miami, United States) on ‘Facebook’ (an online social media application), with intent to gain advantage for yourself, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(i) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of the same Act.”

While Longhom charges read: “That you, Puklong Michael Longhom (a.k.a. Robertech), sometime in May, 2024 in Jos, Plateau State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently impersonated one Robertech (a tech expert) on social media platform (Instagram Application) with intent to gain advantage for yourself and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(i) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of the same Act.”

Meanwhile, they both pleaded guilty to the charges read against them; the prosecution counsel, Musa Gadaka, who appeared with Mariy Usman and Fatima Usman, pleaded with the court to convict and sentence them accordingly.

Additionally, Chonoso and Longhom bagged 5 and 4 years jail terms, respectively, or paid a fine of N500,000.00.
