During an intimate conversation with guests at his wedding on Tuesday, Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, better known as Davido, unveiled some insights about his life and career. The star disclosed a vision his father, Deji Adeleke, shared with him.
Davido said, “In the morning, daddy would say, ‘Davido, I had a vision about you.’ I asked, ‘What vision?’ He said, ‘I had a vision that you would end your music career as a gospel singer.’”
In addition to the moment, Davido also shared the story of how he met his wife, Chioma. Speaking with his groomsmen, he revealed that his long-time friend and associate, Lati Biola, was the one who introduced them. “You know that it was Lati who introduced me to my wife,” Davido stated.
This revelation was met with confirmation from popular entertainer Cubana Chief Priest, Pascal Okechukwu, who commented, “That’s the real story.”
The wedding, held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos, was attended by an array of dignitaries and celebrities. Among the notable guests were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Governors Godwin Obaseki, and Ademola Adeleke, as well as entertainment icons such as Don Jazzy, Ini Edo, PSquare, Zlatan Ibile, Patoranking, Obi Cubana, Seyi Tinubu, Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Osimhen, Pocolee, and the event’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Adding to the festivities, Davido made a grand gesture by gifting his wife, Chioma Rowland, a brand new car, engulfing the moment with excitement for Chioma.
