Anambra Police Command announces the arrest of one alleged gunrunner, Felix Owaya, a native of Ika, south LGA of Delta State along Niger Street, Onitsha.
On Monday, the police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, made it known that the suspect was apprehended on Saturday, June 15.
He said the three hundred and seventy-five live cartridges were recovered from the 48-year-old alleged suspect.
“On 15/6/2024 by 1:30 pm, Police Operatives attached to Fegge division while on patrol along Niger Street, Onitsha arrested one Felix Owaya ‘M’ aged 48yrs of Ika south LGA of Delta State and recover three hundred and Seventy-Five live cartridges,” the police spokesperson disclosed.

Ikenga disclosed in the statement that during the interrogation process, the 48-year-old suspect confessed to having been sent by Mr. Charles Ogboma to collect the ammunition from a man whose identity was yet to be disclosed.
He further acknowledged that the interrogation process was still ongoing.
As the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, expressed his excitement over the successful recovery and apprehension, the CP ordered the security to keep up with the good spirit in fighting against crime with the aim of protecting the citizens within the state.
