Police Officer to Face Disciplinary Action Over Alleged Murder of Two Residents

The Ekiti State Police Command said the police officer whose name was withheld who accidentally slain two residents will face disciplinary action.

This was made know to the members of the public via the force X page on Wednesday.

The incident was said to have happened yesterday at approximately 11:30 p.m. at Omisanjana Area of Ado-Ekiti after the deployed State Traffic Section and police officers who were assigned to monitor the accident, which involved a Lexus car and a Jincheng motorcycle, faced heavy resistance from an angry mob who insisted on jungle justice.

The report noted that, in facing resistance, one of the police officers at the scene purportedly shot at the crowd, and two people were hit by the bullet.

Meanwhile, the identities of the deceased accidentally shot were not revealed.

Although the officer involved has been disarmed, he remained in police custody upon the conclusion of the investigation that led to the deaths of two residents.

The CP, Adeniran, stressed as he reached out to the families of the deceased that justice will certainly prevail after the commission has completed the investigation, as he sympathises with the bereaved family.
