Police Confirm  Two Dead, Seven Abducted in Ebonyi Communal Clash

Ebonyi Police Command confirmed the abduction of seven people and murder of two individuals in a commune clash that erupted on Sunday.

According to Punch publications, the spokesperson for Ebonyi Police Command, Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident occurred at Ikachi Village in the Akparata area of Effium in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

He also added that the incident led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.

Meanwhile, he disclosed that in alliance with other security agencies are working to ascertain the cause of the recent clash in the bid to restore peace to the affected area.

In 2021, Ezza and Effium communities were said to be involved in deadly clashes that led to the death of some citizens.

“We are aware of the attack and the command is on top of the situation.

“We have been working with other security agencies to ensure that peace returned to the area.
“The command is also investigating the attack to ascertain the root cause of the matter,” Ukandu said.
