Where will the Premier League trophy be on Sunday?

It is no news that the EPL title will go down to the wire to determine its winner, this has led to fans and pundits wondering where the trophy will be on Sunday; Etihad or Emirates as both Man City and the Gunners have a chance to lift the Silverware.

Sky Sports and TNT Sports have reached an agreement as the Premier League title race heads into its final day. Manchester City, aiming for their fourth consecutive title and sixth in seven years, can secure the championship with a victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

However, if they fail, Arsenal, just two points behind, could seize the opportunity by defeating Everton at the Emirates Stadium. While the relegation drama has been settled with Burnley’s confirmed drop and Luton Town almost certain to follow due to a significant goal difference deficit against Nottingham Forest, the spotlight will be on City and Arsenal for the 4pm kick-offs. The Champions League spots have also been decided following City’s 2-0 triumph over Tottenham on Tuesday night.

City’s potential crowning against West Ham will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, while TNT Sports will air the Arsenal vs Everton match. With two possible outcomes, the Premier League has arranged for two identical trophies to be present in Manchester and North London – and a similar compromise has been made by the broadcasters.

According to Mirror Football, a mutual understanding exists that permits TNT Sports to telecast the potential celebration moment of City becoming champions after the transmission of their Arsenal clash. Conversely, if City botches things up on Sunday, it would grant Sky the golden opportunity to pivot quickly to capturing Arsenal’s euphoric celebratory scenes at Emirates – something two decades in the waiting.

Interestingly enough, Premier League officials will be present at both grounds on Sunday.

Despite Pep Guardiola brimming with confidence, he isn’t caught up in an early celebration after their critical Spurs victory. “On Sunday for us against West Ham, we will feel the pressure,” he maintained.

“Look at Aston Villa (on the last day) a few seasons ago, we were 2-0 down 15 minutes to go. Sergio Aguero against QPR (in 2012) went to 93 minutes. It is normal. That is why we talk and say everyone has to relax. They are human beings, I understand the pressure.”

There will be 40 medals at each ground. Every player who has made five Premier League appearances this season will get a medal, and the rest distributed to the manager, players and officials as the club sees fit.
