Chelsea FC women Crowned Champions of England.

WSL supergiants Chelsea ladies secured their fifth successive Women’s Super League title with an emphatic 6-0 victory at Manchester United on the final day of the season.

Emma Hayes’ side beat Manchester City to the title on goal difference as the 47-year-old manager signed off her reign with a seventh WSL title as Chelsea boss.

Chelsea, who began the day level on points but two clear of City on goal difference, cruised to victory at an almost sold out Old Trafford with a double from Mayra Ramirez and goals from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Sjoeke Nusken, Melanie Leupolz and the departing Fran Kirby.

Manchester City won 2-1 at Aston Villa, with goals from Mary Fowler and Lauren Hemp, but finish seven goals behind Chelsea on goal difference. Amazingly enough Manchester City were faltering, as they allowed Aston Villa to tie the match 1-1 and then regained the lead via Lauren Hemp. At minute 78 of their match they needed seven goals to make up the goal difference to Chelsea, and eventually surpass us.

The final minutes were ones of nervy defending from Chelsea, doing everything they could to keep the clean sheet against United. But today was a day where everything would fall in the right place for the Blues, including a perfect goodbye for Super Fran. Chelsea Women’s Football Club is now the first team in history to win the top-flight league title 5 times in a row (EPL or WSL). They were also the first team in English football history to win 4 Women’sleague titles in a row

Sir Alex Ferguson all smiles at Old Trafford to watch Man Utd Women’s final league game of the season. But was dazzled as Chelsea trashed Man United 6 nil.

Colombia Star Ramírez was the star of the game as she had 2 goals and 2 assists in the first half of the win, to set up the win against rival Manchester United.

Hayes, 47, has become one of women’s football’s most renowned and successful managers, building Chelsea into a domestic juggernaut with a staggering 15 trophies accrued in 12 years, the only trophy that eluded her was the Champions League in which she got to the semifinal and Final. Emma Hayes is set to depart Chelsea and will become manager of the United States women’s team before this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.

In addition to her seven league titles with Chelsea, she has won five FA Cups, two League Cups, and a Community Shield during her Blues career.
