Federal Airports Are Instructed By The Tinubu Government To Begin Charging Nigerians A Toll At The Airport Gates

Federal Executive Council(FEC) approved that all users of Federal airports all over the country must now pay tolls at the gates. No one is excluded.

The Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has declared that all users of federal airports throughout the nation will have to begin paying tolls at airport gates.

This was among the clearances granted by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) following its Monday and Tuesday meetings in Abuja.

No one, not even the President and Vice President, is free from paying the federal airport gate tolls, according to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser of Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, who revealed this in a list of permissions given by the Federal Election Commission. This was among the consents granted by the council amongst a host of policies and projects geared to facilitate investments, bolster the economy, and improve the ease of doing business in the country

“Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved that all users of Federal airports all over the country must now pay tolls at the gates. No one is excluded. The President and Vice President of Nigeria will also pay the toll,” Onanuga said.

According to him, the FEC has also approved the installation, procurement, and training of operators for the disabled aircraft recovery system at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed Airport.

As per his statement, “The contract will cost N4.2 billion. A similar contract was awarded in 2021 for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.”
