The Katsina State Police Command has achieved remarkable success in March. Through diligent efforts, they’ve tackled various crimes, from armed robbery to kidnapping, with notable results.
According to ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the spokesperson for the command, their operations led to the rescue of over 100 kidnapped victims and the neutralization of five suspected bandits. Additionally, they managed to recover 658 rustled animals, marking a significant blow to criminal networks operating in the state.
The command’s proactive stance against crime also resulted in the arrest of individuals involved in other nefarious activities. During the month, they apprehended 11 murder suspects and 29 alleged rapists, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to maintaining law and order.
Out of the 51 reported major crime incidents, 30 were diligently pursued by law enforcement, leading to charges against 64 suspects. These individuals faced various allegations, including armed robbery, intimidation, incitement, theft, and association with criminal gangs.
The commitment of the Katsina State Police Command extends beyond crime-fighting. In a solemn ceremony, financial assistance totaling over N4.5 million was provided to 13 families of deceased police officers. This support, facilitated by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Usman-Gusau, aims to ease the burden on families who tragically lost their loved ones while serving the community.
DCP Aminu Usman-Gusau emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by these fallen officers. Through initiatives like the Group Life and Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Schemes, the command strives to provide support and stability to grieving families during their time of need.
