Enyeoha in an interview with our Correspondent, narrated that he came back from Port Harcourt and was told his little niece was raped and the culprit Raymond in the Police station at Obite.
“I rushed to Obite Police station at Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) Rivers State. The girl in question was raped at Obuogu community in ONELGA.
“At the station, we were given a Police extract, they precisely told us to go to Doctor’s Without Border at Port Harcourt, where we went and got a Sexual Violence Certificate. We returned and gave it to the Police while the culprit was still in their custody.
“The Police took the doctor’s report and refused to take action, the suspect was detained for two weeks and he was released on bail without our knowledge. When I returned to the Police station I told them to transfer the case to State CIID, Port Harcourt, but they refused, I even told them to transfer it to Ahoada or Omoku Police Division, but they refused.
“What they did was to start threatening me, even as we got there with the victim’s mother, they pushed her threatened her, and put her behind the counter. Some people who followed us to the station started begging them before they released the mother of the girl and we left for home.
“I got annoyed, I had to petition the State Commissioner of Police to come to my aid.
“The Doctor’s report clearly stated that the victim was penetrated, that the victim has injuries on her libia. The report photocopy is with me while the original is with the Police.
“The incident happened on August 2023 and the medical certificate of Doctor’s without border was issued to us on 14 August 2023.
“I am calling on the Police Commissioner to come to my aid because I need Justice, any time I go there the Police will threaten me. They have compromised”.
