I’ll deliver robust development, Fubara assures Rivers people

Kelechi Esogwa-Amadi

The Governor-Elect of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has promised to deliver robust development initiatives that will guarantee prosperity for all Rivers people.

He stated this in his Easter message to the people of Rivers.

Sir Fubara, in a statement by his media unit, said this year’s celebration is a remarkable coincidence as it comes at a time the people of Rivers are also celebrating the achievement of their collective mandate for continuity and consolidation through the immense support that culminated in a landslide victory at the polls for him.

He also charged them to imbibe the sterling virtues of sacrifice, unity, forgiveness, love, compassion, and patience as exemplified by Jesus Christ as they celebrate Easter.

The Governor-Elect further enjoined Christians to reflect on the resurrection of Christ and use the occasion to pray for a peaceful transition in the state in particular and Nigeria at large, as well as more wisdom for the leadership to deliver quality service for the benefit of the people.

According to him, “I warmly felicitate with all Christians, particularly in Rivers State, as they celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ; His death symbolizes the virtues of ultimate sacrifice, forgiveness, compassion, and patience for the sake of humanity. So I urge all Christians to emulate such qualities of Christ to promote peace and harmony in our beloved state”.

Sir Fubara also commended Christians for giving the PDP their massive support at the just concluded governorship, and national and State assembly elections which culminated in their victory.

He further solicited their support as he prepares to take the reins of governance on the 29th of May to enable his administration to deliver on its promises to the people.

He reiterated his commitment to consolidating the legacies left behind by Gov. Nyesom Wike.
