INEC to conduct Rivers supplementary election Saturday, April 15

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that supplementary election for Rivers State will hold Saturday, April 15 across two federal constituencies in the state.

A statement signed by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Johnson Alalibo Sinikiem said the election will hold in Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 11 and Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency by 8.30 am.

It read: “The Management of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Rivers State wishes to inform all Political Parties and the entire Public that the Supplementary Election for Port Harcourt II and Khana/Gokana Federal Constituencies earlier announced by the Commission will hold this Saturday, April 15, 2023, by 8.30 am.”

The election will hold in polling unit 42 in Khana LGA and pulling unit 377 in PHALGA. While the affected Registration Areas are: 04 & 07 for Khana and 05, 10 – 18 for Port Harcourt.

The Commission, therefore, called on all registered voters in the affected Registration Areas/Polling Units to come out en-masse on the above-mentioned date to cast their votes and to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and in accordance with the laid down Guidelines.

“Please be assured of our commitment to ensure a successful conclusion of this election,” it added.
