The people of Eleme ethnic nationality in Rivers State have endorsed the 2023 Social Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for Rivers State, Magnus Abe.
The Eleme General Assembly which is the apex socio-cultural organisation in Eleme LGA said the body took a careful look at all the guber candidates in the state and endorsed Senator Abe for being the most articulate and experienced candidate in terms of governance.
Speaking with our correspondent, the President-General of the body, Chief Israel Abbey said, “we the people of Eleme have come out to endorse the candidature of Magnus Abe for governor.
“We carefully studied all the governorship candidates that are contesting the forthcoming election in the state and saw the SDP guber candidate to be the most articulate and experienced in government.
“Senator Abe has exhibited high moral principles in his political journey, right from when he was a state lawmaker to when he held state appointments and up to when he became a senator.
“We have watched his utterances and mannerism towards the average residents of the state and we have no doubt that he is a man of humility.
“We know how he gave scholarships to our people and other political assistance to our senatorial district when he was the senator representing our senatorial district.
“In the short period of time he has been a member of the SDP, the party in the state can be seen as the fastest growing party in the state.
“We see integrity in him and the willingness to govern this state with progressive intentions for the good of all Rivers people and that is why we decided to endorse him for governor.”
The President-General also said that the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Eleme people will go further to mobilize for his victory at the ballot on the day of the election.
