Rivers NDLEA arrests 32 suspects, seizes 134.143kg of narcotic drugs in August

The Rivers State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested 32 suspects with a total seizure of 134.143kg of narcotic drugs in the month of August, 2022.

The command revealed this in a press statement signed by its state Asst. Commander, Media & Advocacy, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada.

According to the statement, “the state command in the month of August 2022, arrested 32 suspects comprising 30 males and two females with a total seizure of 134.143kg of narcotic drugs such as cocaine, heroin, cannabis sativa and methamphetamine (aka Mkpurunmiri.).

“The command also seized psychotropic substances such as tramadol, swinol, Exol-5, Amphetamine, diazepam, and codeine.

“During the period under review, the command engaged in drug abuse sensitisation campaign which it took to NGOs, community youths, women organisations and religious groups.

“The state Commander who is also the Commander of Narcotics, Ahmed Mamuda is using this opportunity to encourage the people of the state to join hands with NDLEA to combat drug abuse and trafficking.”
