Ameachi attracted human, infrastuctural projects to Rivers – APC faults Wike

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has faulted the claims by the state governor, Nyesom Wike, that its leader, the former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi did not attract any project to the state as minister.

The acting state Publicity Secretary of the party, Darlington Nwauju who addressed journalists at the APC secretariat in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, said the claims of the governor were “false” and a “plot to blackmail the leader of the APC” in the state.”

Governor Wike on Monday, while reacting to comments credited to Amaechi, over his unhappiness on the failure of the state government to conduct a state burial for late Elder statesman, Alabo Graham Douglas, had described  the former minister  as a “total failure.”

He had also alleged that the former Rivers governor had no evidence of service in the state while serving as minister.

However, faulting the claims, Nwauju said the former Minister attracted both “Human capital development and infrastructural projects.”

According to him, the “Afam Power Project Construction, rehabilitation of section one to four of Enugu to Port Harcourt Expressway, Bodo Bonny Bridge, reconstruction of Port Harcourt to Maiduguri rail line, development of Eastern Ports, Naval War College in Ubima, and the Bonny Deep Seaport Project” were some of the projects attracted by Amaechi to the state.

The APC spokesman also dismissed allegations that the former governor showed no interest for the welfare of the former Minister of Aviation, Alabo Graham Douglas when he was alive.

He maintained that the party leader had a cordial relationship with the late Graham Douglas and honored him when he was alive.
