Gunmen abduct Akwa Ibom school principal

Gunmen have kidnapped the principal of Madonna Community Secondary School in the Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The victim, Monday Ekoriko, was abducted after gunmen stormed his compound at Udianga Enem in Etim Ekpo LGA on Saturday night.

It was gathered that hoodlums reportedly made away with Ekoriko’s SUV car and motorcycle during the operation which was said to have lasted for over two hours.

Narrating the incident, the victim’s wife said the armed men went straight to where her husband was sitting and overpowered him.

According to her, they had positioned at strategic places in the compound and started beating him when he showed resistance.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, said the Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, has ordered the deployment of a tactical team to arrest those involved.
