Ogoni people will vote massively for Sim Fubara – Gani Topba

Desmond Iwuchukwu

The Leader of the Conscience of Ogoni People COOP, Gani Topba says Ogoni people are behind the candidature of PDP Governorship standard bearer Siminialayi Fubara.

GANI TOPBA while speaking on a radio show said the Ogoni people will give their support to Siminialayi Fubara because of his contributions to the development of Ogoniland.

He said that the PDP gubernatorial candidate will win convincingly in the four Ogoni local government areas.

TOPBA also said that the Ogoni people will not vote for anybody that sponsors cultism and criminal activities in Ogoniland.

He said that the group will soon release a seven-point communiqué on why the PDP candidate will win the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State.

The Ogoni Activist also commended the efforts of the Rivers State Government in restoring security in Ogoniland.

TOPBA said the efforts of the State Government in prosecuting criminals in Ogoniland is yielding positive results.

He, however, asked Governor Nyesom Wike not to relent on its oars until they eliminate all criminal elements in Ogoniland.

Meanwhile, a Rivers State House of Assembly hopeful in Oyigbo local government area Innocent Ejaelu says the spokesperson for conscious of Ogoni people Gani Topba does not represent the interest of the Ogoni people or who becomes the next governor of rivers state.

Innocent Ejaelu described as unfortunate the assertion by Gani Topba that Ogoni people will vote overwhelmingly for the PDP governorship candidate in rivers state

He said Senator Magnus Abe is the most suitable governorship candidate from the Ogoni extraction.

Innocent Ejaelu, however, said that Gani Topba should put the interest of the people first for the sake of posterity.

In the meantime, a Social Democratic Party SDP candidate for Khana Constituency two at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Moses Salvation said Gani Topba is putting his personal interest first above the interest of the Ogonis.

He said that the comments by the Leader of the Conscience of Ogoni People were driven by stomach infrastructure.

Moses Salvation further said Ogonis will vote massively for their son come the 2023 general election.
