Secondus lauds Atiku for choosing Okowa

Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has hailed Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, for choosing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.

Atiku on Thursday picked Okowa as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election, after being presented with candidates from the south-south region of the country, including Rivers governor Nyesom Wike.

The PDP presidential candidate while presnting his running mate at the PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, said he chose Okowa because he meets all of the required qualities.

Secondus in a statement from his media office said that the opposition party is ready to take over the reins of leadership following the recent development.

He said, “Alhaji Abubakar is a square peg in a square hole whose pedigree in the nation’s political space remains outstanding and speaks for itself.

“Atiku’s choice of Okowa as his running mate shows his knack for picking a good head to be around him for the gargantuan task ahead.

“With the picking of a running mate, the candidacy is complete and PDP is now set for the inevitable journey back to Aso Rock in 2023.”
