Atiku attacked for deleting posts condemning murder of Deborah Yakubu by irate mob

Angry Twitter users have slammed former vice-president and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar for deleting posts which condemned the killing of Deborah Yakubu by an irate Muslim mob for alleged blasphemy.

Deborah Yakubu was killed in Shehu Shagari College of Education, Wamakko, Sokoto State on Thursday for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.

Her killing and setting ablaze drew wide condemnation including from Atiku but he quickly deleted his after Muslims said that they won’t vote for him for condemning the action.

Atiku, himself a professing Muslim quickly deleted the post and tweet. The deletion drew sharp criticism from Christians who said he was afraid of condemning his base.

He later wrote on another Hausa Facebook account that the post was made without his orders.

But tweeps slammed the former vice president for failing to rise above religious sentiments in a pluralistic society.
