Rivers gov’t files fresh charges against Farah Dagogo

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned for mention in the case between the Rivers State government against the Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Farah Dagogo.

Dagogo, a lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal constituency is charged with conspiracy and instigating cult activities.

Our correspondent reports that Farah Dagogo was not brought to court as the court was supposed to deliver a ruling on the application filed by his Counsel for his bail.

During the proceeding, the Prosecution Counsel, Chidi Ekeh told the court that he has no information as why the suspect was not produce in court, noting that they are ready to go on with the case.

He also informed the court that a fresh information have been filed at the State High Court on the same case.

However, Femi Adegbiti, Counsel to Farah Dagogo applied for motion for bail but was not opposed by the prosecution Counsel.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate A O Amadi- Nna after listening to Counsel’s adjourned the case to the 23 May, 2022 for mention.

Speaking to journalists, Principal state prosecuting counsel, Chidi Ekeh said fresh information has been filled at the high court pending when a date will be given.
