Worker’s Day: Farah Dagogo canvases better welfare package for workers

Rivers State Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, has canvassed for a better welfare package for workers to commensurate with their efforts towards achieving economic prosperity for the country

He said workers are an integral part to the success of any government vis-à-vis the growth and development of the society at large and an increase in their welfare will serve as motivation for them to redouble their dedication to their duties in such ‘ laudable manner the workers have been known for’. He also called for stringent laws that would speedily facilitate payments of pensions, gratuities and other statutory allowances.

He said it is pertinent to position workers welfare on a comparative advantage that can shoulder above the current economic and living realities.

Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, who also doubles as the Member representing Degema/ Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives , made this known in a statement marking the 2022 International Workers Day.

“As we mark another Workers Day, I want to use this unique opportunity to canvass for an improved welfare package for workers in all sectors that can at least temper with the current economic and living realities.

“As an employer of labour, I know the importance of workers. It gives me great joy and utmost satisfaction that periodically, I make continuous effort to improve the welfare of my workers, from different levels, upward. This has been my little way of saying ‘Thank You’ for the invaluable services these workers are rendering.

“He equally saluted the resilience of the workers, who he noted, have put in great commitments to serving their fatherland ‘ in this trying times ‘ with diligent services and commendable work ethics.

“I want to personally use this auspicious day to thank our courageous workers, who toil day and night, who brave the odds to give their utmost best. It is clear that those efforts and commitments have contributed immensely to the growth of our fatherland, ” a part of the statement reads.

The statement further enjoined the workers to continue praying for the prosperity, growth and development of the country, as well as God’s divine wisdom for the country’s leaders from the local to the national levels to pilot and meet the aspirations of the people.
