I accept APC’s decision on consensus candidate – Ada Ebenezer

Alabo Rev Francis Ada Ebenezer – Onye, a gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State says he has accepted the decision of the party which selected Tonye Cole as its consensus candidate.

Cole was yesterday named as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of 11 other aspirants.

The decision caused disquiet in the party.

But Ada Ebenezer in a statement on Sunday asked other aspirants to collapse their structures under Tonye Cole.

He said: “I feel honoured at this time in our political history to address you all my followers and teeming supporters on the happenings of yesterday 23rd April 2022 wherein, the leaders of our great party APC painstakingly arrived at a consensus candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.

“This decision of our Leaders was made with the singular purpose of keeping the party united and in love so that we can together achieve victory at the polls come 2023 general elections. In the light of the above, the choice of Arc Tonye Cole should be seen as a fruitful family exercise that will foster peace and unity within the APC family rather than disunity.

“The most important thing in our political life as of today is how to sanitize and restore the ideals of our founding fathers (Rivers of our Dream), by rejecting the ruling party (PDP) that has impoverished the citizenry with their self-centred agenda.

“It’s therefore pertinent and also my considered opinion that all bona fide members of APC give their maximum support and cooperation to our candidate Arc Tonye Cole and the party so as to salvage our dear state from imminent danger.

“It’s important to state that all structures of fellow aspirants should collapse into the party structure as a matter of urgency so as to galvanize the needed support from the electorate for the victory of our great party APC.

“May I, therefore, appreciate our leader Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and all leaders of our great party APC for providing leadership at all levels, and to also congratulate our brother Arc Tonye Cole for becoming the candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.

“To my colleagues, ‘Bravo’ and to our teeming followers, please remain steadfast and be loyal to the leadership of our Party APC”
