2023: Don’t allow another Muslim to succeed Buhari – Bishop tells Christians

Brave Dickson

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, the presiding Bishop of Excellent Achievers Ministries, Bishop Frederick Amoni-ayana has called on Christians to use their votes in preventing a Muslim from succeeding incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

The bishop who made this known in a chat with our correspondent also said it will not be fair if another Muslim succeeds Buhari who is a Muslim.

He said, “since 1999 till date, Christians and Muslims have been sharing presidential tenures in accordance with the principle of fairness.

“No Christian president has succeeded a Christian president without having a Muslim president in between.

“If Christians have maintained such act of fairness towards our Muslim citizens, it will be fair for Muslims to honour such tradition too.

“Though it is obvious that the country is in serious need of a proactive leader to save it from security and economic collapse, however, such a proactive leader can still be found among Christians.”

The cleric also urged Christians who are vying for the number one office in the country to have the interest of the masses at heart.

“I urge any Christian that will emerge in 2023 as Nigeria’s president to think of serving the people not-self.”

He, therefore, urged genuine born-again Christians to come out and participate in electioneering, adding that the country will be better governed if Christians with the fear of God win elections.
