Why national grid collapsed – TCN

Tina Amanda

The Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN Port Harcourt Region, says vandals’ attack on its 330KV Odukpani/Ikot Ekpene transmission line on Friday 8 April, 2022, has resulted to the collapse of their tower T104 located at Oku Iboku, in Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom State.

The General Manager, Transmission
Port Harcourt Region, Engineer Daniel Udofia, who stated this to newsmen, explained that the unpatriotic act of the vandals has really affected the flow of power to the national grid.

He, however, apologised to the public for the inconveniences caused by the loss of supply as a result of the Vandalism.

While frowning at the act, he pleaded with the public to join hands to condemn the activities of the vandals as well as protect electric power facilities in the state in order guarantee constant supply.

Udofia further disclosed that TCN engineers are working round the clock to restore the affected lines.
