Rivers Ministry of Water Resources to release names of certified table water producers

Rivers State Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development says it will release names of certified Table Water Producers in the State on Friday.

This follows the successful completion of the analyses of water samples collected by the Ministry’s Water Service Regulatory Commission.

The exercise, which is intended to ascertain the quality of water served in the State in order to protect the health of residents, will also raise the consciousness of the general public in potable water consumption.

Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja who stated this in his office said the water analysis test was done in line with World Health Organisation Standard, National Water Drinking Quality Standard as well as the Rivers State Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development Standard which considers the hydrocarbon element in the south-south region.

According to him, the water analyses result is expected to be categorized into A to D, namely:
A- Those free from every challenge.
B- PH level.
C- PH, Microbiology and others.

D- Water Producers who did not participate/subject their product for testing during the exercise.

He added that the sampling test which is all-inclusive also considered the borehole, facility and water test.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Ministry’s Conference Hall by 10 am as invited stakeholders are expected to be in attendance.
