Queues resurface at filling stations in Port Harcourt

Florence Uwaeme

Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Tuesday saw a resurgence of queues at fillings stations, signalling a gloomy week for commuters.

Many filling stations visited by theportcitynews correspondent were closed for business while the few that opened had long queues of cars and other domestic customers struggling for products.

Speaking to theportcitynews, a filling station manager who craved anonymity said though they still had fuel in their tank, most filling stations stopped selling over rumours of price and increase and the bad fuel that was imported by the NNPC.

He said that it is uncertain if filling stations will function to full capacity within the week.

Commuters who spoke to theportcitynews lamented the inconvenience they are being subjected to due to the non-functioning of most filling stations.

They called on the government to avert the looming energy crisis as it has a chain effect on the economy.
