Brave Dickson

The newly elected leadership of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, (FIDA) in Rivers State has warned rapists to stay away from women especially minors in the state.

Speaking with our correspondent, the new state Chairperson of FIDA, Adata Bio-Briggs said, “the era of raping women especially minors without consequence is over.

“We are going to fully protect the rights of women and prosecute rape offenders till day are convicted.

“Indigent women and children will top our priority as we will not allow any female to be unjustly abused again in this state.

“Those who think we are only active in the city and are using such falacy to take undue advantage of women in their rural communities should stop now because we are going to ensure that we take our services to all the rural areas of the state from now on.”

The new FIDA chairperson also debunked allegation of election manipulation, adding that other contestants were disqualified from the race over lack of due diligence.
