A police officer has been accused of allegedly shooting a woman in Delta State for reportedly turning down his marriage proposal.
The officer, identified as Bishop Eno, shot the lady after she refused to marry him and meet his subsequent demand for a refund of N1.5 million he spent on opening a shop for her.
In a post on social media on Friday, Human rights activist, Fejiro Oliver, said that the officer attached to the Isoko division of the Delta State Police Command had dated the victim for five years.
However, the victim found out that he was married with a child and turned down his marriage proposal.
Subsequently, he demanded she refunds the N1.5 million he spent in opening a shop for her, which she agreed to do.
Oliver revealed that Eno, who could not wait for the repayment, went to the victim’s house with a service pistol and shot her.
According to him, “Brutal like the Edenic serpent, he couldn’t wait for the day agreed as he went with a service pistol to the girlfriend’s house and shot her.
“She almost passed on as she was rushed to a hospital in Warri where she was given oxygen.”
The activist noted that the officer was on the run and needed to be apprehended.
