Activists under the aegis of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate an allegation of fraud levelled against DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD by some residents of the state.
The state civil society organizations waded in when some persons who claimed to have been defrauded by DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD met with the activists in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Speaking on behalf of the activists, Chairman of the state Civil Society Organizations, Ene-faa Georgewill called on EFCC to investigate DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD, adding that the pain of the defrauded victims is an injury to all.
Georgewill urged the victims of DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD to get prepare for a protest march to the office of the EFCC in the state, saying that “we will not allow any firm under any guise to defraud our people without consequence.
“EFCC must investigate DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD and prosecute immediately, if found culpable.
‘We have had enough fraudulent firms in this state and the time to expose them is now, “he said.
You recall that the owner of the office building where DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD does operate had warned the public to exonerate the premises from the activities of DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD.
The warning was contained in a public notice conspicuously pasted in front of the operational office of DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD and signed by the Solicitor of Sui Generis Chambers, Barr B.E Loolo.
The notice was quoted in parts as saying that, “the general public is hereby informed that our client, Engr Goodluck Offorji is the owner of the entire property at No. 5 Dr Okey Onuchukwu Avenue Off Obi Wali Road, Port Harcourt.
“That the property does not belong to DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD.
“That any person having any right, claim or invest in DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD by way of Investment or otherwise howsoever should kingly direct his or her claims to the officials of DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD.
“That the general public is hereby also informed that the mentioned property is not for sale as our client has no intention to sell same.”
While briefing our correspondent, the leader of the victims, Santos Owolo Santos narrated how he was defrauded by DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD.
He said, “I borrowed N300k from Access Bank and invested it with DA Trading and Capital Investment Nig. LTD.
“For months now, I have not seen my interest as agreed neither have I seen my capital.
“I am seriously into financial hardship as the bank is pressurizing me to pay back the money I borrowed which I have been forfeiting half of my monthly salary to repay.”
