The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it will not allow hoodlums to upstage government in the troubled South-East region of the country.
The Public Relations Officer of NDLEA in Rivers State, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada told our correspondent that his agency is in serious collaboration with other security agencies to make sure the insecurity in the South-East is brought under control.
“No matter what, we will not allow hoodlums in the South-East to upstage the government.
“We are in serious collaboration with other security agencies to contain the insecurity atmosphere in the South-East, “he said.
He further explained that though drug intake may have been influencing the behaviour of the hoodlums to unleash terror on the zone, he noted that the root cause of insecurity is political agitation.
The insecurity in the South-East is far from over as Imo State has taken another dimension by not only killing security personnel but also killing politicians.
Some security experts have advised the federal government to reverse its proscription order on the Ingenious People of Biafra (IPOB), which the federal government has not listened to.
