NSCDC assures Rivers residents of hitch-free Easter celebration

The Rivers state Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muktar Lawal says the command is combat ready to arrest any situation that may cause a break down of law and order during this 2021Easter celebration.

This is as a total of Two thousand Seven hundred and fifty (2,750) officers and men of the command would be deployed to beef up security for this year’s forthcoming Easter celebration.

The personnel would be deployed to all recreation centres and places of worship in the state to ensure a hitch-free celebration, Assistant Commandant OGUNTUASE Michael said in a statement.

According to him, critical National Assets and Infrastructures in the state are not left out as “our Anti-vandal team are already on 24/7 patrol and guard to prevent any form of vandalism.

“All identified flashpoints in the state has also been mapped out for regular foot and vehicular patrols to prevent the breakdown of law and order.

“The command assures prompt response to distress calls wherever and whenever it comes within the state. The public are equally advised to report any suspicious movements around them as well as threats to life and property to the nearest security post for a prompt response.

“Residents in the state are advised to go about their lawful activities without fear nor worries as adequate care has been taken to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration this year.
