Appeal court reserves ruling on five Rivers APC appeals

An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt has reserved judgment on five appeals filed by the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State against five sets of Respondents in different suits.

The Appeals reserved for judgment include an appeal by the APC against Emma Deeyaa and four others; appeal against Bariiye Normagin and five others; APC against Sunday Hokkins and four others; APC against Nna Okpara-Egburuka and Gilbert Kilsi, as well as APC and Victor Giadom, appeal against Chiduo Ogbonna, Igo Aguma and two others.

The three-man panel led by Justice H.S Tsammani reserved the judgment after parties adopted their written address and brief of argument on the preliminary objection and substantive matters.

On the appeal filed by APC against Nna Okpara-Egburuka and Gilbert Kilsi, the court could not grant a stay of execution of an order by the lower court as prayed by APC following a motion brought by counsel to the Respondents challenging the Jurisdiction of the court to hear the suit.

The three-man panel said they would rule on the stay of execution alongside the other matters on a date that will be communicated to parties.
