Unknown gunmen have abducted a lecturer with the Linguistics and Communications Department of the University of Port Harcourt.
Dr Jones Ajuwu was abducted on Sunday evening at gunpoint in Bori, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State on his way back from an event in Andoni Local Government Area.
The gunmen also drove away in the lecturer’s car.

Nnamdi Omoni, spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command while confirming the development, said the command is yet to be fully briefed on the incident.
