Boat accident claims mother and daughter in Rivers

No fewer than two persons have been killed following a boat accident that occurred in the Ogoni axis of Rivers State on Thursday night.

The victims are Mrs Mdalee Baridakara and Miss lezor who were both wife and daughter of Chief Baridakara Nwinunee in Khana Local Government Area of the state.

Announcing the tragic incident, the traditional head of Kwawa community in the LGA, His Royal Highness, Chief Magnus Edooh said: “My father in-law, Chief Baridakara Nwinunee has lost his wife and daughter in a boat mishap in Kwawa community last night..

“Friends, is a horrible moment.

“As a Christian, l beckon my Faith in the Lord, who is the perfect Consoler.

“May their souls rest in peace.

“Doowo (goodbye) @ Mrs Mdalee Baridakara and Miss lezor.”

Our correspondent reports that messages of condolence are still pouring in from friends and colleagues of the bereaved since the news was made public.

Our correspondent also reliably confirmed from the paramount chief that the remains of the deceased have been laid to rest.
