Islamic police arrest Nigerian police officer for committing adultery in Zamfara

Zamfara State Hisbah Commission has arrested a police officer and four others for allegedly committing social vices at Zanginbana Hotel Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

The chairman of the commission Dr. Atiku Balarabe Zawuyya, who stated this while parading the suspects to newsmen at the commission’s headquarters in Gusau, noted that the police officer who is serving with the central police station, Gusau, the state capital was caught with three girls in a single room at the hotel committing social vices which are against the sharia law, Independent reports.

He stated that the commission had warned the management of Zanginbana Hotel several times but yet the hotel’s management failed to comply with the rules and regulations of the commission in the operation of the hotels in the state.

The manager of the hotel has also been detained and is in custody of the commission as at press time, pointing out that investigation is on and they would be charged to court of competent jurisdiction as soon as the investigation is completed for possible prosecution in the court of law.

The chairman of the commission said that in this kind of case nobody should be a sacred cow, stressing that the Hisbah man signed an accord to deal decisively with any action contrary to the tenets of Islam.

He further noted that since the Hisbah man has fallen into the trap of the law, he would not be allowed to go scot-free so that other Hisbah persons would learn their lessons knowing what fate awaits them if caught acting against the Islamic laws.

“I am an Islamic leader and would not tolerate any kind of Islamic misconduct because we are practising Shari’a in this state” he said.

He however urged the Hisbah operatives to be mindful of the Islamic injunctions so as not to fall prey, saying that his leadership was not ready to compromise with any act contrary to the Islamic teachings.

“We as the custodians of Islamic laws should be mindful of our actions and conducts to give the citizens a clear way to think and reason because Islam has already spelt out how we should live and act” he said.

According to him, Islam stated that one cannot be a good Muslim without following the tenets of the religion.

He urged all the religious faithful to caution themselves to prove to the world that Islam is a very good religion and not as none Muslims think.
