Eastern Bar Forum to hold 2019 quarterly general meeting in Port Harcourt

Lawyers under the Eastern Bar Forum will hold their last 2019 Quarterly General Meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State from 15th to 16th of November.

Expected at the meeting are lawyers from the forty-five Branches of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA in the South-South and South-East zones with Lawyers from other zones expected to attend the meeting as observers.

According to the organizers, activities for the meeting will commence on Friday, 15th November 2019 with a Welcome Cocktail Party at the NBA PH Branch House by 7 pm while red Carpet will commence by 6 pm.

The Welcome Cocktail Party will be hosted by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Adama Iyayi Lamikaran.

The General Meeting of the Forum will hold on Saturday, 16th November 2019 by 10 am and will play host to governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the Grand Guest of Honour.

Wike is also billed to declare the meeting open with the Chief Judge of Rivers State acting as the Special Guest of Honour.

The Quarterly General Meeting is the first meeting to be hosted by the new Governing Council of the forum chaired by S. Long Williams Esq. of NBA Port Harcourt Branch.

The new Governing Council members representing all the states that comprise the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria were elected on Saturday, 27th July 2019 at Onitsha, Anambra State.

The meeting is one of the largest gathering of lawyers in Nigeria besides the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference is set to be one of the best of the Eastern Bar Forum Meetings held in recent times.

Other events lined up for the said meeting will be rolled out as events unfold.
