Wami promises to wade-in into Elekahia dispute

The lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Solomon Wami has said he will reach out to all the stakeholders in Elekahia community to ensure lasting peace in the area.

Solomon Wami gave the assurance when the executive of Alakahia General Assembly and Youths Progressive led by Azubuike Abbey visited him in his office at the state assembly complex in Port-Harcourt.

He said he will not support any faction in the community but will do his best to restore peace in the community and foster development.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Elekahia General Assembly, Azubuike Abbey said they were worried over the activities of three prominent politicians in the area who want to cause crisis in the community.

Azubuike Abbey appealed to the lawmaker to ask Governor Nyesom Wike to call the three prominent politicians to order so as to avoid plunging the community into crisis.

He also called for massive development of Elekahia community by the state Government.

Azubuike Abbey while calling for proper investigation of the mater said the youth body will re-elect new executive in December this year.
