Soldiers gun down suspected kidnappers in Rivers Community

Three suspected kidnappers have been killed by soldiers attached to the Elele Barracks in Elele Alimini, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Theportcitynews gathered that the soldiers with the support of a local vigilante group stormed the hideout of the alleged kidnappers leading to an exchange of gunfire between them and the kidnappers.

Mr John Woka, the head of the vigilante group said the suspected kidnappers abducted unspecified number of persons whom they kept in a bush along Elele Barrack Road.

Woka said that upon knowledge of the criminals’ hideout, the combined team of his group and the soldiers moved in to rescue the victims.

He said that upon sighting the army, the kidnappers opened fire which led to the killing of three of them with three others sustaining various degree of injuries.

The vigilante head said the victims were rescued unharmed.
