RSTV denies link with Metro Digital after EFCC raid

The Management of Rivers State Television RSTV Elelenwo, has disassociated self from the operations of Metro Digital Satellite Television Organization in Port Harcourt.

The follows the arrest of alleged illegal operators of satellite television organisations, including Metro Digital by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday.

In a press statement signed by the General Manager, Dafini Gogo Abbey, RSTV discountenanced a radio broadcast by Nigeria INFO 92.3 FM on Sunday 6th October, 2019, which gave wrong information that Metro Digital operates illegally in RSTV premises.

It called the continuous linking of the name of RSTV into the ordeal of Metro Digital as mischievous and misleading.

The statement stressed further that Metro Digital only hoisted their signals antenna on RSTV mast with the express permission from the supervising Ministry in 2008.

The statement however urged all media organizations including Nigeria INFO 92.3FM to stop linking operations of Metro Digital to RSTV in all their broadcast content, as Metro Digital is being investigated by the EFCC.
