Appeal Court ajourns AAC, ADP appeals against Wike’s victory

The Gubernatorial Election Appeal Court Panel adjourned for hearing on the appeal filed by the Action Democratic Party and its candidate against the ruling of the election petition tribunal sitting in Port Harcourt.

The party is by the appeal challenging the victory of Governor NYESOM WIKE and Peoples Democratic Party in the March 9th 2019 governorship election.

The Action Democratic Party and its candidate, VICTOR FINGESI is challenging the refusal of the lower court to grant them leave to amend certain paragraphs in their petition and the directives by the tribunal for the petitioner to provide fresh and clean copies of their petitions.

Also, another appeal filed by AAC against PDP and its governorship candidate, Governor Nyesom Wike and INEC were adjourned as respondents in the matter is yet to be served and file in their responses.

The five-man appeal panel led by J.O BADA adjourned appeal number 373, 374, 375, 376 to 20th August, while directing the Appellant to ensure that parties in all the matters are duly served.

Speaking to our reporter Tina Amanda, counsel to ADP and its candidate, DOLAPO ATTORNEY, said they are aggrieved and have come to the court of appeal to express their grievances against the order of the tribunal not to grant them leave to amend clerical errors.
